What faulty iPhones do we consider?
The available faulty grades depend on the model and the condition options shown in the valuation tool. Examples can include:
- Cracked or damaged screens.
- Heavy cosmetic wear or damaged housings.
- Phones with specific functional faults covered by an available grade.
Not every fault can be accepted. The phone must match the checklist for the grade selected, and all valuations are subject to testing.
Be accurate about the condition
Check the display, cameras, buttons, charging, speakers, microphones, connectivity and housing before choosing a grade. If the device differs materially from the submitted condition, we may send a revised offer explaining the new value.
What if you decline a revised offer?
You remain in control. If you decline a revised offer, we return your device free of charge. We email the tracking number once it has been dispatched.
Protect your information
Even when an iPhone is faulty, remove your personal information wherever possible. Back it up, sign out of iCloud, switch off Find My iPhone and erase it before sending. If the fault prevents this, contact JamesMobiles for guidance before posting the device.

Send the phone securely
Use suitable protective packaging and follow the postage instructions supplied with the trade-in. Do not include a SIM card or accessories unless specifically requested.
Check the value of your damaged iPhone
A minimum combined trade-in value of £50 applies. The final value depends on inspection, testing and acceptance.
