YOUR INFORMATION MATTERS
Protect your data before sending
Back up what you want to keep, remove your accounts and erase your device before posting it to JamesMobiles.
1. Back up your information
Save your photos, contacts, messages and other files before erasing your device. JamesMobiles is not a backup service.
2. Remove your accounts and locks
Sign out of your accounts and switch off Find My and Activation Lock using your own account. Do not share your passwords or passcodes with us.
3. Check work or school restrictions
Remove company or school management profiles, MDM and Remote Management restrictions. If the device is managed by an organisation, contact its administrator for help. Contact us before sending a device with restrictions you cannot remove.
4. Transfer your service and remove your SIM
Transfer your mobile service and any eSIM before erasing the device. Keep your physical SIM and any memory card.
5. Erase the device
After backing up and removing your accounts, erase your personal content and factory reset the device. If you cannot erase it, contact us before posting.
Preparing an Apple Watch
Unpair your watch using the Watch app on your paired iPhone and remove Activation Lock. Erasing the watch alone does not remove this lock. For GPS + Cellular models, remove the mobile plan and contact your network about cancelling the subscription.
Follow Apple’s official trade-in preparation guide. Never send us your Apple Account password or watch passcode.
What happens during inspection?
We may test the screen, touchscreen, cameras, biometrics, battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, calls, charging, buttons, speakers and microphones. For Apple Watch, testing also includes the Digital Crown, heart rate monitor (HRM) and NFC/contactless functionality. HRM and NFC must work on every grade. Device identifiers and activation or management restrictions may also be checked.
Personal data left on your device
We may erase the device during processing. Erased information may not be recoverable. Do not assume data will remain on a device returned to you.
SIM and memory cards are not required. If included accidentally, we cannot guarantee they can be stored or returned; they may be securely destroyed where appropriate.
Locked or restricted devices
Remove activation and management locks before sending. Processing may be suspended while ownership or security concerns are investigated.
See our Terms & Conditions for the applicable ownership and return requirements.
